Building Project Update (March 2, 2018)

Our construction project is continuing with work now having started on the new Youth facility we’re building.  Site grading and demolition has begun and the Boy Scout hut will soon be moved to it’s new location back from where it currently sits.  There is a lot of grading and leveling to be done in addition to multiple de-watering installations that will be constructed into the site and building foundation.

The Sanctuary is nearing completion with the paint work almost finished.  The new carpet has been installed and the pew cushions will soon be returning.  The fire sprinkler system and new air handler for the Sanctuary air conditioning have been installed.

We’ve also installed a new voice evacuation system throughout the church so we can notify either all or selected parts of the church facility of any emergency that may be occurring.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support of this effort to be good stewards of the wonderful resource God has given us.

Sanctuary Renovation Updates

Our building project continues to progress in ways that are visible and in a lot of “behind the scenes” ways also.  You can see from the pictures that the sanctuary pews have been moved and painting has begun.  At this point, we have also installed 90% of the sprinkler system related to this area.

Once painting is finished the new carpet will be installed.  Our hope is to be back in the Sanctuary by March 11th.

We will continue to post pictures and provide updates as we move along.

Upcoming Sanctuary Renovations Begin January 15, 2018

It is hard to imagine that another year has come and gone.  For St. Paul, the coming year will be one of renovation and new construction.  In January, Phase 2 (Renovation of Current Facilities) and Phase 3 (Construction of New Youth Building) will begin simultaneously.  In Phase 2, each part of our existing building has been zoned.  The current plan is to “take down a zone,” complete all the renovations in that particular zone, and then “bring it back up.”

Zone One is our Sanctuary.  It will go down the week of January 15 and will be down through the first week of March.  This means we will relocate our Sanctuary Worship Services to the Fellowship Hall.  Beginning on Sunday, January 21 through Sunday March 4, our worship schedule will be:

8:30am   Early Worship in the Illges Chapel
9:00am   Contemporary Worship in CWC
9:45am   Worship in Fellowship Hall (Additional Worship Service)
10:55am Worship in Fellowship Hall

We have added an additional worship service during Zone One to accommodate everyone.  Hopefully, one of these times will be convenient for you.  Upon completion of Zone One, we will move on to other zones as scheduled.  Please know that will communicate well in advance our construction schedule through our information outlets.  However, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our church office.

I ask that you continue to pray for our mission:  St. Paul Exists to Grow the Faith of People.  This coming year is one of excitement.

God bless,

Progress Continues

Progress continues on our building project as we are currently demolishing the house and apartment on Wildwood Avenue.  Once this demo is completed we will seed the lot with rye grass to prevent any soil runoff as we wait for construction to begin in January.

We also continue to grade the Garrard lot and have installed the new entrance/exit on 21st Street.  The large pipes on the lot will be installed underground to handle water retention from rainfall.

We will continue to update you regularly as our project progresses.

The Building Project Has Begun!

Our building project recently kicked off with the demolition of the house at the corner of Wildwood Avenue and Garrard Street.  Crews have also started taking down the trees on this lot and will soon start grading the lot for initial work on the parking area.  Once the initial work is completed, we will use this area for staff parking and construction worker parking.  Stay tuned for more updates as we begin this exciting new phase in St. Paul’s story.
