Holidays can be the best and the worst of times. We are familiar with the best of the holidays which are filled with celebrations, parties, gatherings, gift giving, decorations, and merriment. However, the worst of the holidays loom large when those that help make up the merriment are no longer with us. Grief is always bigger and more suffocating during the holidays.
If you are dreading the coming holidays because of the grief from lost loved ones, I want to invite you to hear Dr. Earl Nichols, Director of Clergy and Congregational Life at the Pastoral Institute. His is a message of care and hope in the face of loss. Dr. Nichols has spent much of his training and practice in ministry by helping people and congregations navigate the deep waters of grief.
