Where Will You Serve?

Over the past few weeks, you may have seen a brochure entitled “Sharing… Faith and Love…by Serving God” in your bulletin or in your mail box.  By taking just a few minutes to pray and to respond, not only will you be helping St. Paul in her planning for ministries for next year, but you’ll also be opening up the box of gifts and talents God gives to each of us. Once opened, those gifts are intended to share, to serve, and to glorify God.

Won’t you open one gift this Advent Season a little early?  Share your faith and love in 2018.

By selecting “YES” below, you can complete our on-line version of the brochure you’ve seen.  If you prefer to fill out a hard copy, that’s great too.

Pick Up Your Bank and Start Saving for Ukraine

Our precious friends in Ukraine need your help!  As we approach Christmas, the children in Ukraine are making a Christmas Wish List. Our hope is to make their wishes come true!

During Sunday School on November 5, 2017, each St. Paul child was given a church bank with a picture of a child in Ukraine to pray for in the days, weeks, and years to come.  During November and December, your child will have the opportunity to learn more about these orphanages and to raise funds to help support this vital mission. This experience can help teach our children about the needs of others and the joy of giving. We hope your family will join us as we work to make our world a better place.

Below you will find a list of easy chores that children can do. We encourage you to have your child “earn” money for missions by completing some of these tasks. Having the opportunity to work for money gives children more ownership of the fundraiser and makes the whole experience more meaningful. We understand that your child may already do many of the chores listed below on a weekly basis without monetary reward. Simply choose a chore that is not usually part of their daily/weekly routine. Thank you for encouraging your child to help those in need. The seeds we plant in our children today will bear fruit in the future.

On Sunday, December 24, the children will be invited to come forward during the 10:55 service to place their church bank on the altar.

Advent Gives: Wide-Ruled Spiral Single-Subject Notebooks

During Advent we are invited to give to others through St. Paul’s Advent Gives. This year on Sunday, December 3, during the Munch and Serve, there will be opportunities to make Blessing Bags, to paint pillowcases for Ukraine, and to make baked goods.

One of the items needed for the Blessing Bags is a 70 sheet Wide-Ruled Spiral Single-Subject notebook. We will need a total of 300 notebooks, which may be found at the Dollar Tree. I encourage you and your child/children to make a trip to Dollar Tree or visit the Dollar Tree website to make the purchase.

As we prepare for Christmas, we invite our children to experience the joy in giving. For young ones it may not bring great joy, but you will plant seeds that will grow in the years to come.

Notebooks may be dropped off with Sunday school teachers or dropped off in the collection box outside Mrs. Donna’s Office.
