Throwback Thursday Videos! The Secret Life of a Leader (Episode 4)

Welcome to Throwback Thursdays!

We go back several years to a video series created for Kid’s Summer Camp in 2013.  This is Episode 4 of 4 entitled “The Secret Life of a Leader.”

Our camp theme was “Rooted In Love”, based on Ephesians 3:17-18.  Just for fun our videos were “The Secret Lives of Camp Leaders.”  You could possibly say it was what we loved or what we were rooted in, but it was pure fun!

First Steps – November 5, 2018

Our capacities for compassion are deepened when we stay grounded in the sacred truth of our belovedness. Did you know that is how God sees you? So often we forget and start believing the lies that we are not worthy of love. We seek the source of value in our work, wealth, physical appearance, and in others while deep within, a longing lingers. We long for the face of God to remind us of His care.

The walking with God invites us to remember that our belovedness is as secure as the air we breathe. It is the ground on which we have our being. In fact, God’s face is smiling as we speak. We deepen our connection with this compassionate God in various ways — prayer, meditation, solitude, retreat, worship, ritual, fellowship, and community. Every moment we recall God’s grace in our life, we connect with God’s presence in the world. Beloved! Look for God’s grace in your life. Know of his love.

UPDATE: Hurricane Relief Buckets

UPDATE: November 1, 2018

On Wednesday, November 7, we will assemble Hurricane Relief Buckets immediately following Family Night Supper.  These 5 gallon buckets will be filled with supples for people enabling them to continue the overwhelming job of cleaning up after recent hurricanes in Florida and the Carolinas.  Our goal is to assemble 100 buckets.

Here’s how you can help!

  1. Donate $70 to pay for the cost of making 1 bucket.  You can do this by writing a check and writing “Buckets” in the memo or you can donate securely online.  Any amount will certainly help.  Consider donating the cost to fill as many buckets as you are able to do.
  2. Volunteers are needed to get the supplies ready for assembly.  Please join us this Sunday, November 4, following Sunday School for some prep work in the Fellowship Hall or Wednesday, November 7 at 10AM, for assembly line preparation and setup.
  3. Help fill the buckets on Wednesday, November 7.   Make a dinner reservation if you plan on joining us for dinner or arrive at 6:30PM to help.

We all continue to hold in prayer those devastated by the recent storms.
