ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
BRIDGES CLASS (M235)
This is a class meant to bridge together young adults (singles and couples) in their thirties and forties but anyone is welcome. The class meets at 10:00 a.m. Taught by Mark Ellis, Ellie Fober, and Sarah Rumph, this group uses a varied curriculum. Topics range from books of the Bible, awareness of church history, dating, financial management, marriage, children and careers. This is an informal group who will fellowship or serve together outside of the church (Taco Thursdays, cookouts at class members’ homes and serving in missions). Donuts and coffee available every Sunday! If you have any questions, please email smarkellis@bellsouth.net.
THE LIBRARY CLASS (M241)
This class is a mixture of ages, couples, and singles, as anyone is welcome. It’s very informal in nature and structure, very discussion oriented. This class is not afraid to develop a deep understanding of theological concepts. Class begins at 10:00 a.m. and meets in M241 (NOT the Library).
LIVING WATER CLASS (YOUTH BUILDING Y102)
This class is led by Jack and Libbie Key. The “Living Water Class” began Fall 2022 by going through the Book of John. The focus is on the various encounters that Jesus had with people and how His words and actions apply to our lives today. The class is for couples and singles in their mid-20s to mid-30s who want to enjoy great fellowship with a deeper growth in faith. For more information, contact Jack Key (706-887-5818).
NEW COVENANT CLASS (YOUTH BUILDING Y101)
The New Covenant Class is a group in its late 30s and 40s. We have a team of teachers who rotate throughout the year teaching a variety of topics. Our series and lessons vary in length and cover books of the Bible, specific scripture, life topics, and studies that follow the liturgical seasons. We use a mixture of video series, discussion and written curriculum. We usually have a couple of social events a year and support various church and community ministries. We are currently meeting in-person on the ground floor of the youth building in Room 101.
SEEKERS CLASS (M234)
The Seekers is a class of both singles and couples in their 45+ years, although anyone is welcome. Led by Bob Borneman, George Flowers and Mary Lou Jarrell, this class uses a variety of studies, usually 6-8 weeks long, which cover topics from books of the Bible, to people in the Bible (i.e. Peter) to awareness of church history and current challenges facing Christians today. Most, but not all, include a video component and may come either from Rightnow Media or DVD. This class enjoys supporting ministries at Christmas and throughout the year, has been known to work together for St. Paul for All and gets together quarterly for dinner at a restaurant or a member’s home. Coffee and donut holes are enjoyed before the class begins at 10:00. Currently, we meet in the hybrid model of both Zoom and in-person. If you would like the Zoom link, please email maryloujarrell22@gmail.com.
Wesley / Miller-Wilson Class (in-person, Room M232)
This class includes singles and couples in their sixties and above, but anyone is welcome. Social time (with coffee and refreshments provided by the members) begins at 9:30 a.m. and class begins at 10:00 sharp. They enjoy using the International Lesson Series: Uniform Series; however, in the summer, sometimes use different material. Six teachers (Chris Johnson, Yulane Wilson, Gil McBride, Mary Sue Polleys, Rebecca Westerman, and Hardy Polleys) rotate with lecture/discussion format. They support several ministries and are engaged in St. Paul for All and enjoy socials at a member’s lake house once or twice a year
Wildwood Class (Room M150)
The Wildwood class welcomes anyone of any age, singles or couples, but most are in their fifties or more. Eight teachers (Becky Averett, Tommy Bridges, Sherry Evans, Mason Lampton, Gil McBride, Betty Roberts, Vance Smith, and Joe Waldrep) rotate and bring their own topics and style to the lessons. This class enjoys humor as they learn more about the Bible and Christ’s teachings. Refreshments every week before the start time of 10:00 a.m. Currently, we meet in the hybrid model of both Zoom and in-person. If you would like the Zoom link, please email Evelyn Barfield ehbarfield68@gmail.com .
